Please read all the information below before submitting your work. If you have any questions that aren’t covered below, please email publishing@losttheplotcreative.com
What type of submissions are you accepting?
Lost the Plot Press is an adult genre fiction publishing house, with a focus on Romance authors. But I welcome and encourage all forms of Romance and love genre mashing narratives. Romantasy, SF, Gothic, Horror, Cosy, Crime…if there’s a romantic element, I want to hear from you!
How do I share my submission?
Submissions are accepted via email. I would prefer submissions from authors who are not yet published but agents are welcome to submit. The format should be double spaced, Word or Google Docs.
Please send the first three chapters or 10,000 words (whichever is fewer) with a chapter breakdown for the rest of the novel.
You will also need to provide a cover letter that tells me about who you are, where you are with your project, your estimated completion date and how you think I can best support you. If your narrative contains darker themes, please highlight that in your cover letter.
AI will not be used in the selection process and AI generated narratives will not be accepted.
How many projects will you be working on?
For this submission window, Lost the Plot Creative is looking to publish full length novels. But if you have a novella or a collection of short stories that you think would work for me, please let me know!
How much does it cost to submit?
It’s entirely free to submit and if your manuscript is accepted, there will be no cost to you. Lost the Plot Press will have an exclusive licence to publish and market your work. You will be given time and encouraged to seek your own legal advice prior to signing any contract.
How long is the submission window?
The submission window is currently open on a rolling basis. Please follow the steps above prior to applying.
What if my manuscript needs editorial support?
Ideally, you would submit your manuscript in its most complete format. But I know that’s not always possible. If you’re interested in working together in an editorial capacity, please go to www.losttheplotcreative.com and take a look at what is on offer. Please note: purchasing an editorial package is not a requirement for being published through Lost the Plot Press, but nor does it guarantee publication.
What else should I know?
That’s it! Please note that all communications are considered private. No work will be shared or published without clear consent from both parties. All contractual negotiations are private and should not be shared without prior approval.
Lost the Plot Press has a zero tolerance policy for any forms of abuse and inappropriate behaviour will result in the immediate termination of the working relationship.
